Her Curse

The moment she looked into your eyes,

You were under her spell

She lured you into a dangerous trap,

You thought was just genuine love

But really she broke you

“She tied you to her kitchen chair, she broke your throne and she cut your hair,”- Hallelujah (Alexandra Burke Version)

She hypnotised you with the smoothness of her voice

“For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil,”- Proverbs 5:3 (KJV)

She told you false words

And she poisoned your heart

You never tried to break free from the hostage she held you in

Because you never believed she was doing anything wrong

You believed she was making you better,

But really she was making you worse

Her soft whispers were snaky swirls of air from the untrue

They filled your brain

They messed up your thinking patterns

They made your heart bleed,

And you didn’t even know about it

She cursed you

And all this time,

You believed it was a sacred blessing
