Attack

First,

Comes the cause,

The thing that starts the fire,

Things start spreading

You start to worry,

Your shakiness comes to a great amount,

Your breathing becomes heavier than a thousand tonnes

You need to escape,

The fire just keeps spreading,

And the air is polluted,

You have trouble breathing

If you don’t get out now you’re gonna collapse,

Just raise your hand up and ask

You tell yourself

Trying to steady your shaky,

Scared voice,

You ask:

Can I be excused?

You’re finally liberated,

And then you run

To your nearest exist

You’re finally free

Steady

Calm down

You breathe in and out

You’re finally away from the fire,

Are you ready to go back there yet?

Are you sure you’ll be able to handle the pressure?

Maybe

You walk back to the place which was burning in flames,

10…

9…

8…

7…

6…

5…

4…

You’re almost there

Just a few more steps

3…

2…

You’re by the door

1…

Doors open,

Thank God

The fire’s been extinguished

These are how panic/anxiety attacks feel like
